Nana Question #5

This is the fifth of a series of 10 posts where I will attempt to answer questions that my mother has wished her mother (my Nana) could/would answer. I’ve gotten a bit off track lately with everything that has been going on but thought I should see through what I started and said I would do. If interested, you can get further info HERE.

5. Imagine you had one suitcase to transport your possessions from your home.  What ten to fifteen most cherished objects would you choose to take with you?

I’m going to go ahead and assume that my family has made it out of the home themselves. I suppose I’d have a hard time getting most of them into a suitcase regardless, and the one I could fit in likely would not care for it much. So, let’s see what else I could fit in this suitcase, and maybe why:

1)     MY COMPUTER: This is a given, but not for the reasons you might think. It’s the same reason that most people would say their photo albums – all of my photos are stored on it and we rarely print them out anymore – unless it is to give to someone else. It’s an iMac, so yes – it likely would fit in most suitcases. It also has lots of music and important files on there – but that would just be a bonus – this choice is all about the photos.

2)     MY iPOD: Yikes – I’m a nerd! I walk to work and my poor iPod has been my travelling companion. It’s almost 4 years old now and is REALLY worse for wear. I replaced the battery myself and the poor thing is now being held together with duct tape and prayers. I suppose I really should get a new one – I have to hold the headphone connection with my thumb and the hold button is long gone. Ah well, it’s like an old friend now – seems like I cannot just get rid of it because it is old and worn down. I mean, my wife still keep me around?

3)     MY BEER: Honestly, why not – I’m out of ideas so apparently I’d have the space. I suppose I’d grab some bacon to – you know, a guys got to eat. So, umm – I guess that’s it.

Wow. That was sad and pathetic. I suppose I would grab my wallet as well – not that it ever has any money it but I suppose I would need my ID. Well, every post cannot be a winner I suppose. On that note, I’m half way through the 10 questions so there will be a few more in the future, likely mixed in with some other stuff as well. I hope you are all having a wonderful summer, which is going WAY too fast for my liking. Anyway, CHEERS!
